1080p video upscaling
Upscale video to 1080p without stretching it
Bring a smaller video into a 1080p edit while keeping its picture shape. The LocalUpscale workspace below starts with 1080p output selected. Choose a supported clip, compare the original and processed frames, then download the MP4. Free processing covers up to the first 30 seconds, without an account.
This continuous 30-second example was downsampled to 480 × 360, then enhanced to 1440 × 1080 while preserving its picture shape. The display videos were compressed for faster loading. It plays automatically with sound off; use the sound button to listen.
High quality can reduce detail lost to compression; exported files are usually larger.
Keep the picture aspect ratio with up to 4× enlargement. Larger outputs take longer; 4K and 8K require device support.

Full-length videos · $9.99 onceA 4:3 example: 480 × 360 becomes 1440 × 1080
The existing 30-second example in the workspace was downsampled to 480 × 360, then enhanced to 1440 × 1080. Its 4:3 picture keeps the same shape: 1080p here sets a height of 1080 pixels, rather than stretching the image into a 1920 × 1080 frame.
Play the same moment in both versions and inspect faces, edges, texture and movement. The display videos are compressed for faster loading; they show this prepared excerpt, not a promise about every source. Judge your own completed MP4 in the edit or player where you will use it.
What the 1080p setting means for your video
The output fits inside 1920 × 1080, or the portrait equivalent, while preserving the aspect ratio. A 640 × 360 landscape clip becomes 1920 × 1080; a 1280 × 720 clip becomes 1920 × 1080; a 480 × 360 clip becomes 1440 × 1080. Even-pixel rounding can slightly change the calculated dimensions.
Input supports up to 1080p and enlargement is limited to 4×. A 320 × 240 clip would need 4.5× enlargement to reach 1080 pixels in height, so the workspace makes that target unavailable. Choose 2× or a smaller target for that source. A larger file does not recover every original detail.
Try a representative excerpt before a longer edit
Select a scene you want to reuse and leave the 1080p output preset selected. Choose Everyday video, Preserve texture, or Animation and illustration for the source. Review matching frames and several moments in motion after processing, then save the MP4 if it helps your edit.
Free runs have no usage-count quota. They process the first 30 seconds, automatically trimming longer inputs. If the important scene is later, make a short local excerpt first. The $9.99 USD one-time full-duration unlock removes the product time cap and keeps the same format, resolution and device limits.
Prepare a file your browser can process
Use recent desktop Chrome or Edge and start with H.264 MP4 plus AAC or MP3 audio. The workspace checks the input and the device before processing. Keep the page open and enough local storage available, then save the finished MP4 before leaving. Processing time depends on the source, selected settings and device.
A local test with a downloadable result
Your video is processed on your device without uploading it. The site uses the network to load processing files and check access. Keep the original alongside the result: some blur or compression can remain, and texture can change between frames.
