Acceptance

By accessing or using LocalUpscale, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

The service

LocalUpscale provides a browser-based video upscaler. Supported inputs are limited to 720p, including portrait footage, and output width and height are doubled. The result is an MP4. Processing is not real-time and depends on browser, device and local storage. Availability can vary with the video and browser in use. We may change, suspend, or discontinue portions of the service when necessary.

Free access and permanent unlock

Visitors may process the first 30 seconds of each supported video at no charge, as often as they need. Free access requires no account, and longer inputs are automatically trimmed. Purchasing or restoring a permanent unlock requires configured Google sign-in and an available checkout. Purchase availability is shown on the pricing page. The unlock is a one-time $9.99 USD purchase before applicable taxes; it is not a subscription and has no recurring charge. Once confirmed, it enables full-length processing. Taxes, when applicable, are shown at checkout.

Accounts and checkout

You are responsible for the activity associated with your Google account. Waffo Pancake is the payment processor for checkout and approved refunds. A checkout return does not by itself confirm payment; access changes only after the service receives a confirmed purchase status.

Refund policy

The permanent unlock is a one-time $9.99 USD purchase, not a subscription. Refund requests are reviewed individually. You may request a refund for duplicate or incorrect charges, failure to deliver the purchased permanent unlock, or a material difference between the actual functionality and the service description that support troubleshooting cannot resolve.

To apply, email support@localupscale.app with your Google account email address, order or transaction identifier, and the reason for the request. Submitting a request does not guarantee approval. Any refund or cancellation rights required by applicable law remain unaffected.

If a refund is approved, Waffo Pancake processes it. The time for funds to reach you depends on the payment channel. A full refund revokes the permanent unlock granted by that purchase; you can continue using the free version, including up to the first 30 seconds of each supported video with unlimited repeat uses.

Your content

You are responsible for having the rights and permissions needed to use every video you select. Do not use the service for unlawful content, to infringe another person's rights, or to interfere with the service.

AI model and acceptable use

The video enhancement model is Real-ESRGAN (realesr-general-x4v3). It restores and upscales an existing video in your browser; this service produces output at 2× the input width and height. It does not generate a new video from a text prompt. Video contents are processed on your device, rather than collected or hosted publicly by our servers. Enhancement can introduce artifacts and does not guarantee that added visual detail is accurate.

These AI-assisted content rules apply to videos you select, processing and outputs. You must not use the service for any of the following:

• Pornography or NSFW sexual content: pornographic, sexually explicit or other NSFW sexual material.
• Violence or gore: graphic violence, bloodshed, gore, or content that promotes or incites violence.
• Hate: content that promotes hatred, dehumanization or discrimination against people based on protected characteristics, including race, ethnicity, religion, sex, disability or sexual orientation.
• Child-unsafe content: child sexual abuse material (CSAM), sexualization or exploitation of minors, or other content depicting or promoting abuse or endangerment of children.
• Deepfakes or impersonation: deepfakes, deceptive identity manipulation, or impersonation of another person without authorization.
• Copyright or trademark infringement: processing or distributing material without the necessary rights, or using another party's copyright or trademark unlawfully.

Reporting, review and enforcement

Report suspected misuse, infringement or safety concerns to support@localupscale.app. Describe the concern and provide any relevant account information or lawful references. You may voluntarily provide evidence you are entitled to share; do not send CSAM or other illegal material.

We manually review reports, information voluntarily supplied with them, and relevant account-security or payment records where necessary to investigate. We may request clarification, restrict or suspend an account or service access where available, and handle confirmed violations or legally required disclosures in accordance with applicable law. Reports are assessed based on available evidence; a report does not itself establish a violation.

We do not upload, automatically scan or pre-review the videos processed locally in your browser, and we do not claim to provide an automated content filter. Our review mechanism is the support-email process described above. You remain responsible for complying with these rules when using the free workspace or a paid unlock.

Results and availability

Video processing can fail or be unavailable for some videos or browsers. Do not rely on LocalUpscale as the sole copy of any content. Save completed downloads that you want to keep.

Intellectual property

The service, its design, and its software are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. These Terms do not transfer ownership of the service to you. You retain your rights in videos you provide, subject to the rights needed to operate the service.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, LocalUpscale is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of, or inability to use, the service.

Changes

We may update these Terms as the service changes. The date above reflects the latest version.
